Batching overview

Batching groups eligible non-urgent maintenance requests in selected shopping centres, helping reduce callout costs and improve service efficiency.

Our Batching functionality gives clients and approvers a new service delivery option and cost model for eligible reactive maintenance requests.

The Batch option is available in selected shopping centres and will expand across Australia and New Zealand as job volumes grow. Unless agreed otherwise, Batch work is completed during business hours.

Why use Batching?
BenefitWhat it means
Lower callout costsMultiple eligible requests are grouped into one planned service run.
Improved supplier efficiencyContractors complete several jobs within the same centre or area.
Less disruption to storesWork is planned and coordinated as part of a grouped attendance.
Clearer visibilityYou retain visibility of each request and its progress through Ticked Off.
Faster coordinationApproved non-urgent work moves into a managed queue for grouped delivery.
Eligible work

The Handyman category will be activated first, followed by additional categories over time.

Typical jobs that can be added to Batch include:

  • Cosmetic defects
  • Basic carpentry works
  • General handyman works
How Batching works
StepStageWhat happens
1 Select BatchA client or approver selects the Batch priority as the service delivery option for an eligible request.
2Request enters the queueThe approved request waits until the required number of Batch jobs is reached across participating clients.
3Requests are groupedOnce the threshold is reached, Ticked Off groups the requests into a Batch.
4A contractor is nominatedThe Batch is nominated to a high-performing contractor through the standard nomination process.
5Attendance is scheduledWhen a contractor schedules Batch jobs, an attendance date is confirmed and communicated as normal. The exact time of attendance depends on the order in which jobs are actioned.
Cost benefit
In practice, an eligible P4 request may receive the required service at a lower cost through grouped attendance.
Batch request statuses
StatusWhat it means
In QueueThe approved request is waiting for the Batch threshold to be reached.
Awaiting SupplierThe Batch has been nominated and is waiting for the contractor's response.
OpenThe contractor has accepted and the request is progressing.
SLA and attendance expectations
The SLA for Batch requests is fluid, but will always be less than 60 days.

P1 and P2 requests cannot be added to Batch.

If operational requirements change, Ticked Off may:

  • Remove a request from Batching
  • Escalate the request separately
  • Renominate the request independently
When a Batch request requires separate management

Sometimes a request may differ from what was described in the original description. Some work may turn out to be more than a basic repair, or require additional parts, approvals or specialist trades.

For this reason, Ticked Off reserves the right to remove a request from Batch and manage it separately.

Examples include:

  • Parts are required
  • Site access is unavailable
  • Additional approval is required
  • An additional trade required
  • The scope changes following onsite assessment
Communication and Updates

You will continue to receive standard request updates through Ticked Off, including:

  • Tagging
  • Attendance updates
  • Completion updates
  • Additional approval requests where required

Email and push notification preferences are managed through your Ticked Off profile settings.
